Kerri and Rob Wedding Slideshow

Well - what a lucky day for this couple. We had been in the middle of our New Hampshire Blizzard. This was the end of a 10 day period of no electricity through out all of New Hampshire. Yet, the wedding went off perfectly. Yes several guests were missing, but what a romantic beautiful event. Clearly evident of the love between Kerri and Robbie. They could not stop staring into each others eyes and truly taking each other in. True Love between two people who absolutely ended up with a perfect winter wonder land wedding! Take a look at this slide show of their wedding day and you can see the love for yourself!

A Really Fun and Silly Photo Shoot! Take a Look...

This is not your usual wedding photography. No, this was a really fun day spent with my brother. I love him more than anything and was so hysterical while taking these photos of him! Quite a nut! What is really fun is that I was there to take some maternity photo session of my sister in-law whom is the best sister-in-law ever... since we got off track a bit as you can see.

4 tips for looking your best in your wedding photos

4 tips for looking your best in your wedding photos
Long after the cake has been devoured, the gifts have been stored away, and the honeymoon has ended; your wedding photos, memories, and the person by your side will remain forever. Here are a few tips to ensure those photos are as perfect as they can be.

1) Choose an amazing location or backdrop that creates the ambience for you. Take your time to find a great photo location near your ceremony or reception area. By becoming part of a gorgeous backdrop, the overall photo will achieve the look of a unique work of art, as opposed to a run of the mill posed image.

2) Avoid posing for the camera, just have fun and enjoy your day. Have a conversation with the photographer before your wedding day, and be sure they will become a part of the background, catching unexpected snapshots of priceless moments for you and your groom, your wedding party, and your guests.

3) For those times when you do need to setup a shot (wedding party, family group photos, etc.), follow these simple tips:

a. Keep your chin up (literally):
In order to avoid a double chin, remember to keep your chin up as you’re posing for group or couple photos.

b. Close your eyes: To avoid blinking or closing your eyes in the photo, you should close them for a few seconds just before the shot is taken. Sounds contradictory, but it works! If you can’t get it right, ask the photographer to tell you when to open your eyes, just as she is about to snap the photo.

c. Look into the light:
To avoid the dreaded red-eye, look toward a light or the sun just before the photo will be taken. When you look away, your pupils will adjust to the light, and you will avoid the night-hawk look in your photos.

d. Don’t say cheesy:
If you try to fake a smile, it will ultimately look, well, fake. Instead, try to relax and just enjoy the moment. Your photographer should crack a joke or find a way to get the group smiling, all you need to do is try to have fun with the people around you. Oh yeah, and avoid giving your brother or sister bunny ears!

4) Hire the best photographer you can find – consider it an investment in your “forever”
At Relive Photography, we understand the importance of providing you with a portfolio of images that will enhance your memories, and last a lifetime. We work behind the scenes during your Big Day, capturing the priceless moments and artistic images that will continue to wow you, your children, and your grandchildren for years to come. Wedding Advice and Tips in New Hampshire Wedding Magazine Featuring Relive Photography:

I am thrilled to announce that I have been featured in New Hampshire Wedding Magazine for my wedding advice and tips. The article was "5 Tips for Choosing a Wedding Photographer " and gives information on the following topics:

1. Make sure there is a personal connection: Your photographer will play a vital role, not just on your wedding day, but throughout your wedding planning. Make sure that he or she is someone with whom you enjoy working. It’s not enough for your photographer to take beautiful pictures; he or she must also be able to communicate effectively with you to assure you get photos that you will want to look at for the rest of your lives. Plus, a photographer with a great personality and communication skills will be more likely to create wonderful photos of people who aren’t necessarily photogenic.

2. Make sure the photographer shares your vision: This is your special day—make sure your photographer understands your vision. Do you want your photo book to have a formal look? Do you prefer a more relaxed feel? Also, look for someone who takes an artistic approach to wedding photography. Does the photographer effectively incorporate the environment into photos? Are the photos’ composition compelling and artistic or unimaginative and stale? Couples want a photo book to capture their personality.

3. Make sure your photographer has experience: When you’ve found someone you want to work with, and who’s work you like, make sure he or she has experience shooting weddings. You don’t want the photographer experimenting or learning a new skill on your special day.

4. Plan your green wedding: Many couples want to have a “green” wedding. Believe it or not, even your photography can be environmentally-friendly. Ask photographers whether they recycle their photographic materials. Also, ask if they use recycled papers and photography books. You can even request that they use power that is created through renewable sources, like wind and hydro-electric plants. In fact, many utilities offer programs that allow businesses to purchase power that comes solely from these sources.

5. Don’t settle: You should cherish your wedding photography for the rest of your lives. Don’t cut corners, and don’t let friends or relatives take your wedding pictures as their gift to you. Establish a realistic budget for photography and find the best photographer you can within that budget. If you are planning a destination wedding, don’t settle for the resort’s photographer. Find someone with a flexible schedule who is willing to work with you in the months leading up to your wedding and attend your wedding with you.

If you are a bride and groom planning from New York, Montreal, Boston or any other city and would love the opportunity to have a beautiful country outdoor wedding this is a wonderful resource for planning. Please feel free to visit New Hampshire Wedding Magazine and preview the article and other great information that they have to offer.

Kate and Justin were meant to be married to each other. Their wedding images are a telling sign when I see how they are constantly looking in each others eyes in such a sweet way.

"Divas Unleashed" Animal Cruelty Cause!

Spread the WORD! The Puppy Word! Help Animal Cruelty!

My good friend Teddy (picture above) will be in attendance and asked that I spread the word about this Boston Doggy Halloween Parade that is coming up in October. This is a great event to give to Animal Cruelty in helping out the animals that need it most. Bring your dogs in costume for the fun! Here is the official press release to find out more...

For Immediate Release

Boston’s Fourth Annual Divas Unleashed Halloween Pet Parade and Contest

For the fourth year, ghoulish pups and decked out mutts will strut their stuff at the fourth annual Divas Unleashed Halloween Pet Parade to be held on Sunday, October 26, 2008.

Boston, MA-

The event produced by DoggieDay, The Pet Shop Girls and‘s Poochies Spa and Boutique for pets has been a knock-out for the past three years. This year’s event will top the previous years with the proceeds going to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The goal this year is to raise $10,000 for ASPCA Orange.

Parade check-in is from 10:00am until 11:30am at the DoggieDay Play Center located at 400 Tremont Street in Boston’s South End. The parade officially starts at 12:00 noon and ends at the Band Stand on the Boston Common. Once all participants have arrived at the Boston Common, Finalists will be chosen in each category by a panel of celebrity judges for Most Original, Most Outrageous and Best Dressed Group. Prizes will be given to the top 8 in each category.

The event is a dead-ringer for fun; Grande Divas, Universal Motown Recording Group JADA, with lead the parade being driven down the parade route in Mercedes Bens CLKs on loan from Chambers Motorcars of Boston, Randy Price will be escorted in a SMART car offered by the new Colonnade Hotel and a cast of VIPs will follow as the Salem High School Marching Band and Color Guard lead playing your favorites including the theme songs to Star Wars and Harry Potter as well as the Munster mash and other Halloween Favorites.

Can your dog sit, stay and give paw the best? Be there…or be square! At the conclusion of the awarding of prizes, all dogs will get undressed and participant in a very large game of Simon Says…(with Randy Price as Simon)..

Participants are encouraged to pre-register on-line at http://www.doggieday..... or purchase tickets at the DoggieDay Play Center. Several hundred dogs and owners will turn out so please help with the efficiency of check-in by registering prior to the event. The donations for registration are $25 per pet or a VIP registration is available for $50 per pet. Only registered pets and their owners will be eligible for contests, prizes and give-aways.

With the success of this parade and having been started here in Boston, the dog community comes together to help other dogs in need. Here’s hoping Divas goes national next year, to help even more animals in need.

ASPCA Mission: Orange is a focused effort to create a country of humane communities, one community at a time, where animals receive the compassion and respect they deserve—a nation where there is no more unnecessary euthanasia of adoptable animals simply because of a lack of resources and awareness.

I would love to introduce to everyone an amazing cake decorator! Her name is Arie Kidder of Arie Kidder Custom Cakes.
You can see the gorgeous work she had performed for my bride and groom this past weekend. This wedding was so much fun and Rachael and JD were more than a pleasure to work for. I also have attached a sample of the day below to show some of the highlights. The church they chose in Rye, NH (the beach area is stunning there) was a absolutely quaint perfect place for their wedding ceremony. The coolest part was that JD's mom was the minister and she married her son and new daughter in law! WOW! how often do you see that! Following the ceremony we went over to the Portsmouth Sheraton Hotel. The details of their wedding included everything from the candy bar you see below to the perfect ice blue margaritas that were handed out during the cocktail hour. All of these details were handled by a super freindly - cooler than ever Event planner. Megan Whithead of Tangora Wedding Planning was so careful in planning Rachael and JT's day that she had every detail covered down to the lint brush needed for the guys tux's. Awsome!

I am back for a new blog post!

I have to admit that I have been quite busy with the wedding photography season in full swing and not real great on blogging. But, I have had the most wonderful experiences with my brides and grooms this season. To name one I have been to NYC to shoot a wonderful couple's wedding all around the city. We started at their hotel and then attended their beautiful church service. Amie's dress was so quaint and vintage old fashioned which fit her perfectly! I absolutely adored both her and Troy and their family and friends. What a wonderful group! We had ventured to the old cobblestone roads in the Meat market area to photograph their vintage photo to match her theme. (See Below) Funny that Amie and I are very similar in our old school style (vintage) love! It is so wonderful to have the opportunity to work with someone who shares my taste! We then went to a wonderful place in Soho called Vento Tratorria. The food was exquisite to look at and eat. Also see below

Vento-Trattoria- Fantastic Appetizer (Pizza) - Great idea! and a wonderful gourmet meal to follow:

How Cute is This Photo!

Is this not the absolute cutest baby? I had so much fun working with this two week old baby! She was really a pleasure to have at my studio with her mom and grandma as well. I know that she does not look amused but we got some fabulous pictures of her and her little body parts as well. More to come......

Here we Go! New Tip of the Week...

Begin Creating your guest list as soon as possible.. Ask your parent and the groom's parents for a list of people they would like to invite. You and your fiance' should make your own lists. NOTE-Order your invitations at least four months prior to your wedding. There are three types of invitations: formal/traditional, contemporary, and lastly informal. Traditional are generally a white, soft cream or ivory with black raised lettering. The contemporary invitation is typically a presentation that makes a statement about the bride and groom. Informal are often printed on the front of a single heavyweight card and may be handwritten or preprinted.

Always invited all of your guests to both the ceremony and the reception. Order one invitation for each married or cohabitating couple that you plan to invite.

Order approximately 20% more stationary than your actual count. Allow a minimum of two weeks to address and mail the invitations.
Tip to save money - Thermography looks like engraving and is one-third the cost.
